Mission Statement
To enhance the quality of family health care in Wisconsin through the appropriate funding of the education, research and philanthropic projects of the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians by providing significant support and stewardship of funds.
Areas of Focus
Execute, enhance and embrace the Foundation Development Plan
Goal 1: Align fundraising goals and strategies that focus on overall long-term support of the Foundation
- Sustainable Contributions Program- Introduce and promote monthly giving to convert existing donors and engage new donors in the program.
- Increase endowment and undesignated funding goals
- Assign accountability to the boards to achieve development plan goals
- Utilize unique talents of board members to expand skill set in fundraising
- Involve board members in donor cultivation, retention & stewardship
- Provide resources for fundraising training
- Facilitate more relationship building
- Identify and support primary care training to the community
- Increased transparency with board member giving expectations
- Frequent personal reminders & contribution updates throughout the year
- Members & Public at Large
- Target one-time donors & members who haven’t given

- Provide value to members and build community by promoting activities that combat burnout and administration burden, strengthen resiliency, and provide lasting wellness (virtual engagement opportunities-peer support groups, networking nights)

- Students to National Conference – 50 students = $30,000
- Stethoscopes for FM Residents – one visit per program = $5,500
- Engage members across the state in visits, not just local physicians
- Undesignated = $35,000
- Endowment = $2,000

Goal 2: Empower Academy & Foundation board members to execute the Development Plan
Goal 3: 100% board members donate (Academy and Foundation boards)
Goal 4: Increase the number of donors– 10% increase annually
Goal 5: Build on success of quarterly drawing program
Connect and integrate Foundation support for WAFP Areas of Focus
Goal 1: Collaborate with Academy to identify specific opportunities to support Academy activities, whether virtual or in-person
Goal 2:Support WAFP CME and MoC efforts for members
Continue support for promoting a Family Medicine Workforce
Goal 1: Through Sustainable Contributions Program, continue fundraising for:
